PALUMBO LADY GRIFFINS

The Lady Griffin volleyball team won the Public League District 12 Class A championship Monday afternoon with a 3-1 victory over Freire Charter. The squad advanced to the title match with a 3-0 victory over Parkway Oct. 24. Next up is today’s Public League semifinal against Class AAA champ Central High at South Philadelphia High School, Broad Street and Snyder Avenue, at 3:15 p.m.


POINT BREEZE BASKETBALL

Registration for the Point Breeze Civic Association’s basketball leagues are at Vare Middle School, 24th Street and Synder Avenue, 6:15 p.m. Tuesdays for ages 10 to 13 and Thursdays for ages 14 to 16. RIZZO RINK HOCKEY

Rizzo Rink, 1001 S. Front St., is looking for ages 12 to 14 to be players and a goalie for a bantam travel team. Call 215-685-1593.


SOUTH PHILLY COBRAS

The South Philly Cobras 14-and-under baseball team is looking for players for the winter and spring. The squad will play in an indoor winter league in South Jersey with tournament participation in 2009 while also playing in a competitive league in South Jersey.
