The Lady Griffin volleyball team won the Public League District 12 Class A championship Monday afternoon with a 3-1 victory over Freire Charter. The squad advanced to the title match with a 3-0 victory over Parkway Oct. 24. Next up is today’s Public League semifinal against Class AAA champ Central High at South Philadelphia High School, Broad Street and Snyder Avenue, at 3:15 p.m.
POINT BREEZE BASKETBALL
Registration for the Point Breeze Civic Association’s basketball leagues are at Vare Middle School, 24th Street and Synder Avenue, 6:15 p.m. Tuesdays for ages 10 to 13 and Thursdays for ages 14 to 16.
