A man was given a frightful awakening Christmas Eve when two men barged in his home and robbed him at gunpoint.

The 39-year-old was asleep at 8:50 p.m. in his second floor bedroom on the 2800 block of South Sheridan Street until he heard someone knocking on his bedroom door, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. When he answered it, a pair of men entered his room, with one placing a small, gray gun to his face and ordering him to the ground. He kept the firearm to his head as his accomplice searched the room. They took a $4,500 necklace from around his neck, his wallet containing $900, his cell phone and another $500 from his dresser.

They left the man unharmed and fled the dwelling with their findings, Tolliver said.

The gunman was described as Hispanic, age 30 and 5-foot-10; having facial hair; and wearing all black clothing while the other offender was described as black, age 30, 5-foot-10 and wearing all black clothing including a black hat.
