A trio covered their victim’s head with a sweatshirt before beating and robbing him last week in Whitman.
The 51-year-old walking on the 500 block of Ritner Street at 3 a.m. Aug. 14 when three men pounced on him from behind, throwing a blue hoody over his head and punching him until he fell to the ground, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. At that time, they kicked him multiple times on his right side before taking his wallet, which contained $50, ID and medication.
The group fled eastbound on Ritner Street, Tolliver said.
Two of the offenders were described as white; in their late 30s; 6 foot; 225 pounds; having bald heads; and wearing blue jeans and white sneakers while the other man was described as white; in his early 20s; 5-foot-7; 150 pounds; having brown hair; and wearing blue jeans and white sneakers.
