Suspected home invader busted

Tillman Byrd

Authorities announced the arrest of one of the men sought in a Point Breeze home invasion.

As first reported in the Feb. 18 South Philly Review as “Plenty to fear,” an inhabitant of the 1100 block of South Mole Street said two unknown males knocked on her door on Feb. 14 to state they needed to check her water pipes. They left when she informed them her pipes were fine but returned shortly after, forcing their way into the home. The occupant ended up pistol-whipped with one aggressor ransacking her bedroom.

Following the Feb. 18 receipt of an anonymous tip, members of the Philadelphia Police Department, FBI Violent Fugitive Task Force, and South Detective Division Warrant Unit went to the 800 block of Moss Street March 2 and arrested Tillman Byrd. They charged the 28-year-old North Philly resident with robbery, conspiracy, making terroristic threats, simple assault, and recklessly endangering another person. He had not posted his $300,000 bail as of press time and awaits an April 1 status hearing.
