Gargano starts new show with PHLY

South Philly native Anthony Gargano has launched a new two-hour talk show on the local digital sports network PHLY, under the umbrella of ALLCITY Network.

“The Anthony Gargano Show” hit the digital airwaves on March 28, bringing the big former radio personality back to the ears of local listeners after a hiatus.

The show is aiming to be a departure from ALLCITY’s community-driven, team-specific format and will focus its content not only on local sports, but Philadelphia lifestyle, culture and general news.

Gargano previously covered professional sports for the Philadelphia Inquirer before gathering considerable recognition as a radio host on 610 WIP and 97.5 The Fanatic over the last 24 years. His new role follows a settlement with The Fanatic in September, which included a six-month no-compete clause.

Gargano said he was drawn to PHLY Sports due to its modern sports culture, dynamic platform and the ability to create the future of local sports programming through storytelling and entertainment.

“Since I was a little boy, I derived great joy from talking sports and it has been a gift to do it professionally in my hometown of Philadelphia for the past 24 years,” said Gargano, who grew up near 18th and Ritner streets. “I’m thrilled to be joining PHLY, which offers a unique intimacy with the audience to collectively share our passion.”

ALLCITY Network launched in Philadelphia with PHLY Sports in September, expanding from cities like Chicago, Phoenix and Denver. The fast-growing digital media outlet has also recently launched national products under the ALLCITY brand featuring NFL, NBA, NHL and golf shows.

On PHLY, Gargano will offer his insider perspective on all things Philly with his trusted style and candor listeners have come to expect. The show will stream Monday through Friday on the PHLY YouTube page, with podcasts also available on Apple and Spotify.

“The Anthony Gargano Show will be the first two-hour daily product that we’ve ever launched, and we are incredibly excited to finally bring it to Philly every morning.” said Brandon Spano, CEO of ALLCITY Network. “PHLY is about community and civic pride, while making it more fun to be a Philly sports fan. There isn’t a better representative of these values than Anthony Gargano. Cuz is back.”
