A teen was assaulted until she handed over her phone in Southeast Philly last week.

The 16-year-old female was walking along the 2000 block of South Seventh Street at 5:45 a.m. Sept. 18 when the robber walked up behind her and said, “Give me your phone,” Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. Her inaction resulted in him punching her in the face, pushing her down and choking her until she handed over her Samsung Galaxy S II phone. The thief fled westbound on Mercy Street while she headed south to Snyder Avenue where she flagged down a taxi to call the cops.

The offender was described as white or Latino, age 20 to 30, 5-foot-6, stocky, and wearing dark clothing, including black fingerless gloves and a mask partially covering his face.
