City Councilmember Kenyatta Johnson and the Philadelphia Office of Community Empowerment and Opportunity recently distributed 150 pre-packaged Thanksgiving dinners to senior citizens living at the Philadelphia Housing Authority’s Conswiller Pratt Apartments in South Philadelphia.
Johnson also gave out hundreds of turkeys during Thanksgiving week to residents throughout the Second Council District, which includes parts of South Philadelphia, Southwest Philadelphia and Center City. The turkey giveaways were done in partnership with Live! Hotel and Casino, the Tuttleman Foundation, the Bellwether District and Southwest Leadership Academy Charter School.
