RBI Kids play WIFFLE tournament at Citizens Bank Park

More than 30 young players had the opportunity to play WIFFLE ball at Citizens Bank Park in a tournament for RBI Kids.

RBI Kids, which stands for Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities, provides children 12 and younger from underserved areas in and around Philadelphia the opportunity to play baseball and softball. The game took place on June 11 as the Phillies were on All-Star Break. Six co-ed teams from the RBI League had the opportunity to play ball at Citizens Phan Field, located in The Yard at Citizens Bank Park.

The event featured special guests, including 1993 National Champion and Phillies Club Ambassador Mickey Morandini, who was the celebrity umpire for the night. Also participating were Citizens Ballpark Bankers and Phillies Ballgirls.

RBI players got the opportunity to enjoy several other activities at The Yard, including the Chevrolet Phanatic Climbing Wall and the Hatfield Phillie Franks Hot Dog Launcher. A free dinner was also provided for the kids. (Contributed photo)
