St. Richard Parish in South Philadelphia won the Archdiocese of Philadelphia Catholic Youth Organization baseball championship with a 9-6 victory over Annunciation/St. Denis on June 15.
The Bulldogs received great pitching from eighth-graders Steven Vanore, who threw five and a third inning and Dom Gallo, who closed it out with a clean inning in the seventh. The Bulldogs got timely hitting from Nicholas DiGiacomo (2-for-3, two RBIs), Louis Bressi (2-for-3, two RBIs) and Brendon Musial (two-RBI double) in the championship game.
