Chick-fil-A opens on Penrose Ave

Chick-fil-A’s second South Philly restaurant is open for business.

The new establishment at 2650 Penrose Ave. opened its doors on March 9 and is already making a positive impact on the local community.

In celebration of its opening, Chick-fil-A will donate $25,000 to Feeding America. These funds will be distributed to partners in the greater Philadelphia area to aid in the fight against hunger.

In addition, Chick-fil-A Penrose (Platt Bridge) is recognizing 100 local heroes making an impact in the Philadelphia area by providing them with free Chick-fil-A meals for a year. The new restaurant also plans to participate in Chick-fil-A Shared Table, an initiative that redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits in need. To date, more than 18 million meals have been served nationwide from Chick-fil-A Shared Table donations.

Chick-fil-A Penrose (Platt Bridge) will be open for dine-in, drive-thru and carry-out from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

The new restaurant employs approximately 150 full- and part-time Team Members, serving guests and cultivating relationships with local organizations and businesses.

“In opening Chick-fil-A Penrose (Platt Bridge), I am looking forward to creating an environment where Team Members and guests feel welcomed and cared for,” Kevin Lopez, Owner/Operator of Chick-fil-A Penrose (Platt Bridge). “Our restaurant’s mission is to provide authentic hospitality to our guests and Philadelphia community – one sandwich, one smile and one person at a time.”
