A man broke into a Queen Village couple’s home and stole their car keys and their vehicle early Friday.

When a 43-year-old awoke to use the bathroom at 4:30 a.m., he noticed an unknown man standing in the upstairs hallway, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. When he yelled, the intruder fled out the front door of the property on the 200 block of Carpenter Street.

The man woke his 41-year-old wife, and the two noticed their automobile keys were gone as was their gray 2005 Ford F-150. The pair, who are currently moving out of the home, also noticed the realtor’s key in the lockbox also was missing.

While the vehicle was recovered, police did not have any suspects at press time.
