A man forced another to withdraw money from a Whitman ATM last week.

The unknown man riding a bicycle approached a 19-year-old as he was in front of an ATM at Fourth and Wolf streets at 11:15 p.m. Aug. 17, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. The biker hopped off his mode of transportation, placed his handgun against the teen’s back and said, “take out all the money out or I’ll blow out your spine.”

The man obliged and withdrew $160, which he handed over to the man who fled south on Fourth on his bike, Tolliver said.

The teen was unharmed, Tolliver said.

The offender was described as black with a dark complexion; age 20 to 25; 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8; having a medium build with a scruffy beard; and wearing a white T-shirt, dark-colored shorts and a white hat.
